Park Valley, Box Elder County
Park Valley has a strong cowboy tradition.
The town of Park Valley, a mostly ranching/farming community, is located in the valley called Park Valley. It was visited by explorer/trapper Jedediah Smith in 1826. In 1841 the Bartleson-Biddwell party came through on their way to California. William P. (Cotton) Thomas was the first permanent settler after moving from Brigham City, Utah to start a cattle ranch there. The area received its name from the trees which grew along Dove Creek nearby. There is no fuel, food, or lodging available.
